Although revealing the salary history sometimes yields positive result, it often becomes the drawback in getting the job and drawing desired salary. So we can say that there are biggest drawbacks in revealing your salary history.

Where revealing your salary structure as higher may render you non economical on the one hand, revealing your salary as less in comparison with the currently offered may prove you under skilled. Your taking neutral stand also may not be beneficial for you as it shows that your current skill is too low and you can’t stand the toughest test to be conducted during practical working.

Those resumes ignoring the salary history are thrown into the dust bin, while those who properly make the picture of their salary history clear are considered for interview. Companies want to interview applicants they know they can afford. As a way to weed through thousands of resumes, some employers require a salary history and immediately discard applications that omit this requested information. If you decide it’s in your best interest to present a salary history, use the opportunity to market yourself. Include information about your key accomplishments, allowing hiring managers to see your real real value.

You should use your resume in mentioning your salary history which is the best way to convey the information on salary positively. But this should be accomplished only on being insisted upon by the hiring Company.
